Manufacturer of R&D Pilot Lab Ribbon Blender

A mixing drum with ribbon-style blades and a seal make up the Lab Ribbon Blender. A robust platform made of square pipes made of stainless steel, fitted with a motor and gear drive, supports the drum. All other parts are made of SS 304, but all moving parts are made of SS 316.

The Lab Ribbon blender’s blades are arranged to minimize dead space and increase mixing efficiency. Through SS housings with the proper double bearing arrangement, the main mixing vessel with a ribbon blade is mounted on a S.S. pillow block arrangement to support the stiff and thrust loads.

The see-through SS dust cover on the container allows for real-time viewing of the material being mixed. SS grills with covers are supplied and hinged to the container to make it easier to add solution while mixing.
A specially designed seal that keeps impurity particles out of the mixing drum provides an appropriate self-sealing arrangement to stop the formation of black particles.
Our ribbon blenders come in both industrial-sized floor models and small tabletop versions. Although we provide a large range of capacities, the 30 kg is the one we use the most.

Process Operation

A ribbon blender features a horizontal trough that includes a central shaft along with a helical ribbon agitator. In this appliance, two opposing ribbons are attached to the same shaft. One of the ribbons shifts the solids gradually in one direction, while the other one propels the solids swiftly in the opposite direction. In batch-operated ribbon blenders, the solids are loaded and mixed until the desired consistency is achieved, then released from the bottom. The process of mixing occurs as a result of the turbulence created by opposing ribbons, rather than solely from the movement of solids within the trough.
