In the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries, oscillating granulators are used for sieving, grading, size reduction, and gentle homogenization of dry, delicate powders and granules.
A single rotor with five edges oscillates on a horizontal axis at a rate of roughly 180 revolutions per minute in an oscillating granulator. At the bottom of the rotor is a single half-round sieve. Material falls onto the rotor blades as the product is charged from the top through the feed hopper. Over a screen of appropriate mesh, a set of oscillating bars arranged in a cylindrical shape break up the particles. Particle downsizing occurs as a result of the rotor’s sharp edges, and material is forced out of the bottom opening through the sieve.
Process Operation
