Manufacturer of R&D Pilot Lab Fluid Bed Dryer
The Fluid Bed Dryer provides the two great benefits of efficiency and product homogeneity that are often associated with fluid bed dryers. In this method, a fluidized bed is used to create droplets of a liquid binder by atomizing the solution with high-pressure air. Granule size is increased as a result of these droplets forming liquid bridges between the individual particles. One advantage of this approach is that it can finish two distinct unit operations in one processing step. Methods like drying and granulating are part of these procedures. A combination of fluid bed action and microprocessor control over airflow, input air temperature, and drying duration yields final samples and batches that are extremely repeatable. The technology’s end result, granules, are highly soluble and exceptionally porous, two characteristics that have several uses in the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries around the globe.
Process Operation
As a first step, hot air is forced through the material as it is being fed onto the trembling steel bed. By coming into contact with each particle in the material bed, the high-pressure hot air flow fluidizes the bed. For materials that are particularly sticky or wet, the dryer’s ability to regulate the airflow along its length allows for optimal fluidization. The material will gradually lose moisture as it passes through, until it reaches the desired dryness. Upon reaching the required level of dryness, the material is transferred to a cooling zone. This step involves exchanging the hot air for the cold air that brought the temperature down to the desired level.
