Ribbon Blender

Process Operation

A helical ribbon agitator and a horizontal trough with a central shaft make up a ribbon blender. Two opposing ribbons are installed on the same shaft in this blender. In one direction, the ribbons move the solids slowly, and in the other direction, they move the solids quickly. The solids are charged, mixed, and discharged from the bottom of batch-operated ribbon blenders. The turbulence created by opposing ribbons causes mixing in addition to the solids’ movement through the trough.
